Two reasons:
1) There is typically so much fluffy wonder-speak (e.g., “ordinary people can make millions of dollars just by helping people”) that it can’t *possibly* all be true.
2) People selling membership kits don’t take “no” for an answer. They’re like mice — you can try to keep them out of your life and prevent their return, but they find a way back in and then you have to get rid of them all over again.

I have been in network marketing for some time. People are not against beacuse they think you are a bad person, but its because they are common people.

Firstly, WIth an open mind you yourself analyze the concept behind your network marketing and put all the prejudices asaide. You will realize that 95% of such concepts dont have strong business model. Most of them are based on rotating money.

Secondly the success rate is very low in this industry. Most of the people prefre to spend time on the thing that they are sure of rather than something they are not sure of.

Thirdly, most of the people are very common. They cant dream big. They are afraid of dreaming big just because they are faraid that they may not able achive such big things. So one way to be success is sell dreams and not concepts on network marketing.

MLM is multi level marketing based on Matcalf Law as stated in Business School by Mr Robert Kyasaki and in this concept company deals with customer directly distributing profit/income to its networkers according to their respective plans instead of middlemen. MLM which deals in fmcg, health, cosmetics, daily need products etc are not pyramid schemes.MLM global turnover is around USD 150 billion.

There are several reasons why network marketing is a bad name to most people out there!..

1.) They’ve got bad experience with network marketers who hard sell them and keep pestering them…

2.) They’ve got bad experience with failure because the MLM industry (sorry to say this), is alot of hyped.

Hype of “Potentially” making lots of money but most people struggle in it. Not everyone are super salesman…

3.) They’ve got bad experience with rejection.

There’s an oxymoron in the MLM industry…

Logic says that since you’re already recommending things to friends, why don’t you recommend something good and make some money out it…
- People “typical” do not feel good making money out of friends!
- Truth is most people do not recommend things to their friends all the time..at least for me….

I’ve been in the network marketing industry for several years now. I’ve been through all the hype trainings..personal development, all Ra Ra shows, motivations, bootcamps, tried different MLM marketing system that everyone claims the same thing “We have a proven system..just follow our plan and it will work…” Bullshit…plus I see my uplines who are leaders for years still working into the wee hours…they work harder than the average worker out there…

I begin to wonder if network marketing can allow you to have freedom…the worst thing is..they keep preaching about the freedom…sigh

MLM idea is great..but it’s just not good for the majority of humans…because humans are different and unique..you can’t fit everyone into a system…
